Amla
The second recipe uses Amla powder instead of fresh gooseberries:
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon amla powder
1 cup water
1 tsp honey (optional)
Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine the amla powder and water.
Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer.
Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the water reduces by half and the mixture thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and let it cool down.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any remaining solid particles.
Add honey to taste, if desired.
Chill the juice for an hour before serving.
Amla powder is a rich source of vitamin C and antioxidants and can be an excellent substitute for fresh gooseberries. However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before adding a new supplement to your diet, particularly if you have any pre-existing health conditions or are taking medication.
Amla powder can be purchased at health food stores, online retailers, and Indian grocery stores.Â
